Support us

Our service is delivered without charge to patients or their families, as our singers are all volunteers and our expenses are funded through donations, grants and fundraising events.

We’re a charitable organisation that relies on independent donations to fund our work. All our singers work voluntarily. Travel and other personal expenses are met by the singers themselves. We welcome donations: these can be made directly into our bank account (please contact us for more details) or via our Givealittle page. Either way, you can be sent a tax receipt for a tax credit Claim.

We welcome the support of our Associate Members, who receive regular news of our progress by email newsletter, and are able to participate in fundraising and promotional activities of the choir. If you would like to become an Associate Member, please contact us for more information.

Since 2020 Whakaahuru Singers has continued to receive financial assistance grants from MusicHelps ĀwhinaPuoro (formerly the New Zealand Music Foundation,) and Community Organisation Grants Scheme (COGS.) We have also received a one-off grant from the Leonard Monk Charitable Trust. These grants help pay our professional musical director, our practice space rental and other operational costs including training and publicity. These have enabled us to build and maintain a varied repertoire of songs suited to our service of bedside singing and continually develop our singing quality.
