Our service is delivered without charge to patients or their families, as our singers are all volunteers and our expenses are funded through donations, grants and fundraising events.

We’re a registered charitable organisation so donations of more than $5 are tax deductible. We welcome donations, which can be made directly into our bank account: 38-9016-0127867-00. Please enter your name in the Particulars field and “Donation” in the Reference field. If you would like a receipt, please email us to tell us about your donation and give us your email address.

We welcome the support of our Associate Members, who receive regular news of our progress by email newsletter, and are able to participate in fundraising and promotional activities of the choir. If you would like to become an Associate Member, please contact us for more information.

Since 2020 Whakaahuru Singers has continued to receive financial assistance grants from MusicHelps ĀwhinaPuoro (formerly the New Zealand Music Foundation,) and Community Organisation Grants Schemes (COGS) in Wellington and Lower Hutt. We have also received grants from the Leonard Monk Charitable Trust and the W N Pharazyn Trust.
